Minister of Transportation and Communications Lin Ling-san (ªL³®¤T) returned yesterday from an APEC ministers meeting having persuaded his counterparts to hold a working group meeting in Taipei. Lin, returning from Mexico, where he attended the Second APEC Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Tourism, said his trip had been "very fruitful" after succeeding in his a bid to have the 21st Tourism Working Group meeting held in Taipei in November. Lin said Taiwan's initiative to encourage productive investment in the tourism sector obtained the support of a number of countries. Lin said he held bilateral talks with officials from Chile, Singapore, Mexico, Thailand, China and Indonesia to discuss exchanges and cooperation.
