Taipei's Mass Rapid Transit police yesterday arrested a 31-year-old man for taking pictures up the skirts of women travelling on MRT trains. The man, identified only by his surname, Wu, was arrested on the Tamsui line early yesterday morning. Police found a digital camera and two memory cards, containing more than 70 pictures, in his backpack. Wu told police that he had cut a hole in his backpack through which to take the pictures, then put the bag on a floor of the train to get the shots he was looking for. Police said they plan to step up patrols on the MRT system and that passengers can report anything suspicious by calling 110 or (02) 2558-2929.
