STAFF WRITER

Vice President Annette Lu (呂秀蓮) was appointed yesterday as a member of the Central American Technology University's (CATU) Advisory Committee on academic affairs. Visiting Honduran Vice Minister of Finances and Budget William Chong Wong, who also serves as CATU vice president, delivered the letter of appointment to Lu at the Presidential Office. Also present at the meeting were a group of CATU students who are attending an academic workshop in Taipei. Lu, who obtained an honorary doctorate from CATU when she visited Honduras one-and-a-half years ago, accepted the appointment with great pleasure and reiterated her heartfelt gratitude to CATU for having conferred the honorary doctorate upon her. She also told her guests that she was deeply impressed by the situation in Honduras. She also expressed her concern about the study conditions for CATU students who have been attending an academic workshop in Taiwan since June 16.
