Students under the age of 18 will be able to visit Internet cafes during the day for the duration of the two-month-long summer vacation, which started yesterday, the Taiwan Cybercafe Industry Development Association (中華民國網咖協會) said yesterday. Taipei City regulations prohibit people under the age of 18 from visiting Internet cafes and video games parlors from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and from 10pm to 8am everyday. The asso-ciation said the Taipei City Government was relaxing the daytime restrictions because it was treating school vacations as national holidays for students and teachers. However, the night-time prohibition will still be enforced.
