Dog adoption made easier

Dog lovers often adopt strays cared for by Hualien County's animal shelter. But since anyone wanting to adopt a dog has to visit the shelter in person to choose one, the process of adopting a dog is both time-consuming and inconvenient. To simplify the procedure, the shelter has built its own Web site, where it posts pictures of healthy dogs together with information about breed, gender, age, weight and other characteristics. Anyone who wants a particular dog can simply go to the shelter within seven days of the information being posted to complete the adoption process. Once the service is complete, sending an e-mail specifying the preferred dog will be sufficient to notify the shelter of the intent to adopt that dog. The Web site has been set up as a sub-section of the Hualien County Animal Disease Control Center (花蓮縣動物防疫所) on the Hualien County Web site.
