Chinese wine to go on sale

China-produced white wine can be expected to hit the domestic market by next month, the Taiwan Tobacco and Wine Board announced yesterday. Apart from white wine, a bigger selection of tobacco and alcohol products from China will go on sale at the same time, the official said. White wine is the last category of alcohol products that is waiting to pass examination and enter the highly competitive domestic market. Chinese-produced white wine already has a big market share in Taiwan. However, these products are mostly imported from Macau without the government's permission, the official said. After the white-wine market is fully opened, consumers can enjoy products with guaranteed quality, he said.
