A 26-year-old man yesterday admitted raping a woman after threatening her baby with a knife. Police said Lei Meng-ta (雷孟達) got into the back seat of the woman's car while she was preparing to drive away from a baby store with her child on June 4. He threatened to cut the baby with a box cutter and forced her to drive to a motel, where he raped her, police said. Lei tried to abduct another woman on June 7, but was thwarted when the woman instead drove to the headquarters of a borough warden and raised the alarm. Lei was arrested yesterday morning after police matched his fingerprints with those found in the cars of the two women.
