First family: Wu recovering from surgery

First lady Wu Shu-chen (吳淑珍) underwent surgery Thursday for hemorrhoids and is now recovering well, doctors at Shin Kong Wu Ho Su Memorial Hospital said yesterday. Huang Fan-yen (黃芳彥), vice president of the hospital, said that President Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁) has visited his wife in the hospital and that their son Chen Chi-chung (陳致中), who is serving in the military, also took a day's leave the previous day to visit.
