The Water Resources Agency has begun to work on a water-rate scheme that takes into account different types of users, agency director Huang Chin-san (黃金山) said yesterday. He said his agency has started to work on a reasonable price scheme for water consumption to offer different water rates for households, industrial users and business users. Huang said that the scheme will consider people's needs in setting rates for households. In setting rates for industrial users, he said, production costs and international competitiveness will be taken into consideration, while the distinctive features of commercial users will be considered when setting rates for them.
