Two Taipei City councilors yesterday criticized the city's police department for failing to shut down a Web site selling "date rape" drugs. Lin Yi-hua (林奕華) and Chen Li-hui (陳女麗輝), both from the KMT, said they received provocative e-mails from the Web site's operators, addressed to "Taipei City Councilor" and advertising various types of "date rape" drugs and aphrodisiacs. The Web site also ridiculed Taipei police's failure to shut down the site, the two councilors said. Chang Ming-che (張明哲), head of the computer crime unit at the Taipei City Police Department, said the police were waiting for information from the US before acting. The Web site allegedly sells FM2, a tasteless, odorless drug with sedative effects that is commonly known as a "date rape" drug.
