Tamsui tour for VIPs

President Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁) accompanied Marshall Islands President Kessai H. Note yesterday on a tour of Tamsui. Chen and Note first visited "Fishermen's Dock" at Tamsui Harbor and embarked on a patrol boat of the Coast Guard Administra-tion on a sightseeing tour of Taiwan's northeast coast. Chen later gave a speech at Tamkang University welcoming Note to Taiwan. Note also visited the Maritime Museum run by the university. Traveling at the head of a 20-member official delegation, the president of the South Pacific nation arrived in Taipei on Sunday for a six-day visit. Taiwan and the Marshall Islands forged diplomatic links in November 1998.
