Delegation heads to US

A Taiwan delegation, led by Legislative Yuan speaker Wang Jin-pyng (王金平), will arrive in Washington tomorrow for a visit. The delegation will meet with members of Congress and government officials as well as overseas-Chinese community leaders. Wang's mission arrived in Costa Rica on Tuesday to attend the Wednesday inauguration of President Abel Pacheco De La Espriella on behalf of President Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁). After the inauguration, Wang's mission was to go to Guatemala and also visit Washington and New York, sources from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the US said on Wednesday. Members of the delegation included Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lan Chih-min (藍智民) and John Feng (馮寄台), director of the ministry's Protocol Department as well as legislators from different parties, including Chen Chin-jun (陳景峻), Hsu Shao-ping (徐少萍), Liao Ben-yan (廖本煙), Tony Cheng (鄭志龍), Hsu Jung-shu (許榮淑) and Jow Bo-yuan (卓伯源).
