Chinese journalists arrive

An 11-member mission composed of Chinese journalists arrived yesterday for a 10-day visit at the invitation of the Taipei-based Chinese Press Institute. It is the most prominent delegation of its kind from China to visit Taiwan in recent years. Li Weiyi (李維一), spokesman for the Taiwan Affairs Office under Beijing's State Council, is in the group, which also includes reporters from the Xinhua News Agency and the People's Daily. While here, the delegation will visit leading media organizations, as well as tour the National Palace Museum and Kenting National Park.
