Diplomats visit Taichung

A delegation made up of diplomats from 13 Central and South American countries visited Taichung County yesterday as part of an effort to promote bilateral exchanges between their countries and Taiwan. Nicaraguan Ambassador Luis A. Wang (王海光), the rotating chairman of the diplomatic corps, led the delegation of more than 30 members. The delegation first visited Wintek Corp, which is located in the Taichung Export Processing Zone. Delegation members said that they were impressed with the company's LCD production process. The diplomatic delegation later paid a visit to the Taichung County Government where Magistrate Huang Chung-sheng (黃仲生) warmly welcomed the visitors.
