The closer the economic relations between Taiwan and China, the better the security of East Asia and the world is guaranteed, Chris Anderson, editor in chief of Wired magazine said.
Anderson said that he believes that Taiwan's economic strength will not be weakened if Tai-wanese manufacturers relocate their wafer production facilities to China.
Rather, Anderson said, such economic exchanges may reinforce Taiwan's economic vitality.

He said that the TSMC was chosen by his magazine this year as one of the 40 corporations with the best potential, together with such international firms as AOL-Time Warner, Cisco, Intel, Dell, Citibank, Sony and Yahoo.
Anderson was formerly Hong Kong bureau chief of The Economist and once lived in Taiwan for six months.
He said that Beijing is well aware of the adverse consequences if it attacks Taiwan.
While capitalization is an irreversible path for China, the closer the economic ties between Taiwan and China, the more will Beijing suffer from such consequences, according to Anderson.
He said that he knows that many people in Taipei have different opinions from his. Still, he believes that Taiwan must not fear further economic exchanges with the mainland.
Anderson said that he is optimistic about Taiwan's prospects, considering the science and technological achievements and business competitiveness of such companies as the TSMC.
