United Microelectronics Corp (聯電) fell NT$1.10, or 2.3 percent, to NT$47.30. The second-largest made-to-order chipmaker denied a United Evening News report that said Advanced Micro Devices Inc of the US will take as much as a 30 percent stake in the Taiwanese chipmaker.
