Lin hopes to ease foreign buyers' worries on Taiwan

CNA , TAIPEI

Minister of Economic Affairs Lin Hsin-yi (林信義) is planning to meet with officials from the International Procurement Office (IPO) to help dispel worries of major foreign buyers about Taiwan's clout as a purchase center in Asia.

Recent reports had quoted key procurement officials from major customers of the IPO, including Dell and IBM, as saying that if three direct links are not opened soon, Taiwan will risk losing its long-pursued status as a procurement and operations center in the Asia-Pacific region.
