Orient Semiconductor Electronics Ltd (華泰電子) rose NT$0.60, or 4.9 percent, to NT$12.75. The chip packager said sales in May fell 34 percent from last year and rose 2.8 percent from April to NT$911 million.
VIA Technologies Inc (威盛電子) rose NT$17, or 6.7 percent, to NT$270, its biggest percentage gain since March 26.
