Meanwhile, having failed with one acquisition, Delta is already looking for alternatives. "We will look at every possible opportunity," said Delta's spokeswoman. "We won't make an announcement until a concrete decision has been made," she said.
Still, any acquisition will take place in the future, rather than now, so new products and orders will take longer to come on line, analysts said.
"Slower growth will affect its price-earnings ratio downward," said China Securities' Chen. "That will affect its stock price," he said.
