Organizers of a “Robot Kitty” exhibition in Taipei were yesterday putting the final touches to the show, which is expected to attract huge crowds of people to the futuristic iteration of the popular Hello Kitty character.

The Robot Kitty Future Paradise (未來樂園) showground opens today at the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park (松山文創園區).

Walking through maze-like passages, visitors can take part in interactive games and explore the “Robot Kitty Smile Technology and Interactive Exhibition” to earn “K coins” and game points by passing certain tests, the organizers said.

Hello Kitty fans can also purchase love arrows, golden helmets and other Hello Kitty goods to take home, they said.

People interested in collecting a complete set of Robot Kitty merchandise will have to visit the exhibition 14 times, spending at least NT$6,000.

Visitors can also become “engineers-in-training at the Sanrio Robotics Institute to help develop Robot Kitty,” the organizers said.

The show will also feature drawings of Robot Kitty by several Taiwanese celebrities.

Also on display is an assembled mechanical Kitty, an imitation of comics superhero Iron Man made of PET bottles and other plastic materials and gadgets, by Taiwan Poster Design Association chairman Wu Chieh-min (吳介民).

The exhibit is open until Oct. 20.
