Taiwan’s largest annual comics exposition will kick off in Taipei next month.
The event, organized by the Chinese Animation and Comic Publishers Association and various publishers, will feature 34 graphic artists from Taiwan, China and Japan, along with the voice cast of several popular animations.
The artists and voice actors will sign autographs and engage with their fans at the 13th annual manga gala.
Among those attending the exposition are Satoshi Hino and Atsushi Abe, who provide the voices for Bakuman, a story about two junior-high school students who aspire to become top manga artists.
Sayaka Ohara, voice actress for Fairy Tail, an adventure story about wizards from rival guilds, will also attend.
Shibashi Hiroshi, author of Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, about a man who is part human and part demon, will also attend the show to sign autographs.
The popular manga series recorded sales of 11 million shortly after it was launched in Japan in 2008 and has twice been adapted for TV. The series is being adapted into video games.
Hattori Mitsuru, who wrote and illustrated Sankarea, a romantic comedy about a male student with a zombie obsession, has also been invited to attend.
The event will run from Aug. 9 to Aug.14 at the Taipei World Trade Center.
