The 2006 Taipei Hot Springs Festival: Blooms and Springs commenced yesterday in Beitou District, with the Taipei City Government inviting the public to enjoy the district's famous therapeutic hot springs. "Blooms and Springs" started five years ago as a celebration of two of the city's greatest natural attractions -- the world-renowned therapeutic hot springs of the Dantun volcanic range and the blooming fragrance of chrysanthemum and alocasia. This year's festival, with "Body, Mind, Spirit, and Hot Springs" as its theme, features a series of activities to highlight a multitude of health benefits derived from soaking in the springs. The following displays can be viewed around the Mass Rapid Transit System's Xinbeitou Station from Oct. 26 to Oct. 29: "Taipei Hot Springs Resorts Exhibition," "Taipei Hot Springs District Retrospective," "Healthy Hot Spring Journey" and "Bewitching Treasure Hunt." The month-long event will end on Nov. 26.
