SOMETHING TO FLAP ABOUT
Veterinarians at the Taipei Zoo examine a red-crowned crane named Dan Dan yesterday. The bird, native to China, was injured at Hsinchu Air Force Base in 2004 and has been caged ever since as political problems have prevented the bird from being returned to its native habitat. The zoo now has plans to fly Dan Dan to South Korea to be released into the wild.
