Japanese singer-songwriter and actor Masaharu Fukuyama is set to hold a concert in Taipei on Saturday, his first ever in Taiwan.

The singer is scheduled to arrive in Taipei tomorrow to prepare for the concert, local promoter Amuse Entertainment Taiwan Inc said yesterday.

The concert at Taipei Arena is part of Fukuyama’s “We’re Bros Tour 2014,” which includes 14 performances in Japan and two in Hong Kong.

Fukuyama’s tour began on April 5 in Tokyo and after the concert in Taiwan he is scheduled to travel to Hong Kong for the performances there.

The 10,000-plus tickets for the Taipei concert sold out within one hour of going on sale on March 1, with the more expensive seats — starting at NT$4,500 — snapped up in five minutes. Ticket prices ranged from NT$800 to NT$5,500.

“I participated in various promotional activities in Taiwan and Hong Kong last year... I am very happy to be able to return there to perform,” Fukuyama said in a promotional video.

During the Taipei show, each audience member will be given a computer-controlled glow stick to create special effects, Amuse Entertainment Taiwan said.
