Singer Jam Hsiao (蕭敬騰) testified in court yesterday over an assault in October last year in which his van was hit by feces allegedly thrown by two motorcyclists.

Scores of fans gathered at the Shihlin District Prosecutors’ Office in Taipei as Hsiao appeared for testimony yesterday morning.

He did not reply to media inquiries, but said that he was “willing to forgive, but people must be honest. The perpetrators must tell who gave the order to carry out the act.”

On Oct. 28 last year, Hsiao was sitting in the back of a van parked outside his residence in Taipei’s Nangang District (南港) when two helmeted motorcyclists hurled a bucket of droppings toward the driver’s seat. Hsiao’s driver sustained multiple bruises to his limbs after he was dragged 30m along the ground while trying to stop the alleged culprits.

The police on Dec. 6 arrested four suspects, surnamed Chang (張), Tseng (曾), Hsiao (蕭) and Chen (陳). The police also listed Yuki Kageyama, who lives in Taipei, and her female assistant, surnamed Liang (梁), as suspects.

Chinese-language media have reported that Kageyama was a big fan of Hsiao.

She reportedly visited Jam Hsiao one night in July last year to deliver hot soup. While there, she allegedly took photographs of a motorcycle owned by Hsiao.

After she left, Hsiao posted an online message that said Kageyama should “respect people’s privacy.”

Kageyama responded with her own messages, and this allegedly led to further quarrels among Hsiao, his agent and Kageyama.
