A 40-year-old man was recently indicted on charges of personal privacy and sexual morality offenses after releasing sex videos of his former girlfriend on the eve of her engagement to another man.
According to local media reports, the woman broke up with the accused, surnamed Cheng (鄭), who is an interior designer, about two years ago after catching him cheating.
Cheng ended things with the other woman shortly afterward, saying that his former girlfriend had always been the love of his life, police said.
Cheng then started calling and sending text messages to the woman hoping to patch things up with her and even waited outside her home and office for hours to speak to her, police said.
Despite Cheng’s efforts, the woman refused to take him back.
Things went sour in July when Cheng discovered that the woman was engaged to another man, a discovery that prompted him to orchestrate revenge against the woman.
Cheng first created a Facebook account and used it to befriend the woman’s friends, colleagues and family members, before posting videos on his page of him and his ex-girlfriend engaging in sexual intercourse while on an overseas vacation, police said.
Police said the woman was devastated by the release of the videos and quickly reported the case to the police to prevent Cheng from spreading more sexually explicit videos of her.
The woman is suffering tremendous physical and psychological pain, as the videos have also been circulating on foreign porn Web sites, police added.
Police raided Cheng’s residence in Taipei’s Nangang District (南港) and reportedly confiscated the videos in question as well as Cheng’s computer, hard drives and cellphone.
