The romantic soap-opera In Time with You (我可能不會愛你) was the early front-runner for this year’s Golden Bell Awards, with nominations in eight categories.
With one of its leading characters, Brother Ta-jen (大仁哥) becoming a pop icon in Taiwan, the GTV production series has hogged the spotlight as nominations for the 47th Television Golden Bell Awards were announced yesterday.
A total of 35 awards are up for grabs, with the presentation ceremony to take place at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Taipei on Oct. 26.
Among its eight nominations, In Time with You is up for Best TV Series award, Wilson Chen (陳柏霖) for Best Leading Actor, Ariel Lin (林依晨) for Best Leading Actress, Lin Mei-hsiu (林美秀) for Best Supporting Actress, Chu Yu-ning (瞿友寧) for Best Directing of a TV Series and Mag Hsu (徐譽庭) for Best Writing for a TV Series.
A rare feat for this year’s nomination was that the leading actors and actresses from four TV program series are going up against each other for awards: In Time with You, Way Back into Love (愛回來), Ex-Boyfriend (前男友) and Sister A-Han (阿憨妹), a Hakka TV production.
