Hsinchu urges no resales of tickets

By Huang Mei-chu and Jake Chung  /  Staff reporter, with staff writer

The Hsinchu County Government yesterday urged netizens not to sell concert tickets online for the rock band Mayday after they were given away by the county government.

The county government added that it was looking into possible legal responses to discourage such incidents from happening again.

The 2012 Hsinchu Hakka Yimin Festival event will be held on Sept. 1, and Mayday is scheduled to stage a concert during the event.

The county government gave away 24,000 tickets in exchange for five plastic containers of various sizes, with a limit of two tickets per person.

The county government yesterday said the tickets were not for sale and legal restrictions were printed on the tickets.

Despite the warning, the county government said netizens were selling the tickets online.

One netizen offered the tickets in exchange for the company of a female.
