People looking for the perfect spot to get down on one knee to propose to their beloved on Valentine’s Day should act fast, said the nation’s hotel operators, who provide so-called “proposal tables” for couples-to-be.
Seductive lighting, a romantic atmosphere and a discrete location have triggered high demand for the “proposal tables” in -hotels, -operators said, adding that many of the tables were booked last year.
Grand Hyatt Taipei’s director of marketing communications Luanne Li (李佳燕) said its Bel Air Restaurant has sent 1,000 couples to the altar since its grand opening 21 years ago.
The record was set last Chinese Valentine’s Day (the seventh day of the seventh lunar month) with the near-40 ping (132m2) restaurant accomodating four -proposing -couples at the same time, she said.
Far Eastern Plaza Hotel’s Marco Polo Restaurant has also in recent years launched a “proposal service” for customers, which includes a so-called “proposal certificate” as a memento of the evening.
