By Mo Yan-chih  /  Staff Reporter

Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin (郝龍斌) yesterday confirmed the appointment of EasyCard Corp general manager Jason Lin (林志盈) as the head of Taipei City’s Department of Transportation, and said he would announce the other officials in his new -administration today.

Lin served as the department head when President Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九) was Taipei mayor in 2002. The incoming Taipei deputy mayor, Ministry of Transportation and Communications Administrative Deputy Minister Chen Wei-jen (陳威仁), was also a former official under Ma’s municipal team and is considered a member of the so-called “Ma troop.”

Hau said Transportation Department Commissioner Luo Shiaw-shyan (羅孝賢) would return to Tamkang University as a transportation management professor, while shrugging off concerns about the delayed announcement of the full line-up of his administration.

“Some new city officials are still going through administrative procedures for the positions and we will announce the list today when everyone is ready,” Hau said yesterday.

At least four incumbent department heads, including Social -Welfare Department Commissioner Shih Yu-ling (師豫玲) and Department of Information and Tourism Commissioner Tuo Chung-hwa (脫宗華), will leave the Hau team for health reasons or to retire.

Hau will lead the new municipal team’s swearing in on Saturday when his second term begins.
