Travelers to Sun Moon Lake can now sign up for firefly tours, the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration said yesterday.
Administration director Tseng Kuo-chi (曾國基) said fireflies could be viewed at Sun Moon Lake and surrounding areas.
The tours cost NT$100 per person and will run until May 9.
Rains have produced ample food for the fireflies, and tourists can see thousands of them in the valley at night, Tseng said.
Meanwhile, around 5,000 cyclists will tour Sun Moon Lake tomorrow, Tseng said. Twenty-two newlywed cyclists will take the lead, with the brides wearing veils and pink jerseys.
Participants will be included in a draw for 41 Merida bicycles, with the most expensive valued at NT$41,500.
