A cold snap lasting about five days is expected to affect northern and central Taiwan starting tomorrow, sending temperatures in some areas to as low as 10ºC, the Central Weather Bureau said.

Meteorologists said the continental cold air mass would move over Taiwan tomorrow evening.

Early morning temperatures in northern and central Taiwan could drop to 10ºC on Saturday and Sunday before rising to between 12ºC and 14ºC on Monday. Daytime temperatures are expected to range between 21ºC and 24ºC on Saturday and Sunday, also rising slightly on Monday.

Northeastern Taiwan can expect lows of between 12ºC and 15ºC from tomorrow to Tuesday.

The cold snap could bring rain as well.

In the south, early morning temperatures of around 14ºC to 16ºC and daytime temperatures of between 25ºC and 27ºC are expected, with sunny skies.

The central and southeastern coast can expect slightly higher temperatures and cloudy skies, the bureau said.
