Post-Election 2008: NSB increases security measures for Ma after victory

The National Security Bureau (NSB) announced yesterday that it had increased security measures for president-elect Ma Ying-jeou (馬英九), vice president-elect Vincent Siew (蕭萬長) and their immediate family members following their victory in the presidential election on Saturday.
"Now they are president-elect and vice president-elect. We will do our utmost to ensure that they and their family members do not face any potential threats," bureau Director Hsu Hui-yu (許惠祐) said.
BODYGUARDS
More than 20 bodyguards, including NSB agents, police officers in uniform and military police members were stationed outside the Ma residence last night.
Hsu that the guards' weapons were loaded with live ammunition.
Similar measures were in place at the residence of Vincent Siew and his family members.
At around 2pm, Ma's wife Chow Mei-ching (周美青), and their two daughters Lesley (馬唯中) and Kelly (馬元中) arrived at Taoyuan International Airport as the daughters were scheduled to return to the US for work and school.
AGENTS
They were escorted by more than 20 NSB agents and police officers from the Aviation Police Bureau but they decided to wait in line to check in along with other passengers upon their arrival at the terminal.
Hsu that the NSB would assign bodyguards to protect the Ma daughters in the US.
