Trade Center set to host Game Show

The Taipei Game Show, which will be held between Thursday and next Monday at the Taipei World Trade Center, will feature the manuscripts and works of Taiwanese comic book author Tsai Chih-chung(蔡志忠) and Japanese author Yoshiyuki Tomino, whose works should be the main focus of the event, organizers said yesterday.

FIVE ZONES

The show will feature an international exhibition hall consisting of five zones -- a masters' zone, an audiovisual animation area, an exhibition zone for entries in last year's 4C Digital Content Contest, a display space for award-winning works from last year's Asian Comic and Animation Contest and a zone dedicated to showcasing digital content-related products, the organizers said.

The organizers said the works of Tsai, one of Taiwan's best selling comics authors with over 40 millions books sold, and Tomino will be highlighted in the masters' zone. Tomino is one of the five masters of Japanese animation, along with Hayao Miyazaki, Katsuhiro Otomo, Mamoru Oshii and Hideaki Anno.

INTERNATIONAL FLAVOR

With a view to promoting international exchanges, the organizers said that 147 comic pieces and 16 animation works, selected from a total of 2,976 works submitted by 28 Asian nations in last year's Asian Comic and Animation Contest, will be showcased at this year's event.

Highlights of the five-day event will also include 56 comics and 20 animated works that were entered in the 4C Digital Content Contest last year, the organizers said.
