The families of Cabinet members were able to visit their loved ones at work yesterday on Family Day for government employees.
"Our family members were able to visit us at work and get an opportunity to understand what we do while we are at work," Government Information Office Minister Shieh Jhy-wey (謝志偉) said.
"We also got the chance to get to know our coworkers' family members," he said.

When the wife of Premier Chang Chun-hsiung's (張俊雄) visited him at his office, Chang led his fellow Cabinet employees in an impromptu family sing-along.
Shieh's wife and two daughters visited him at his office and his daughters performed a Flamenco dance for the press, temporarily replacing Shieh as the photographers' focus.
Media coverage
Shieh's wife Wang Ling-hui (王齡慧) said that she appreciated the local media coverage of her husband because when she was visiting Germany a month ago, the media coverage helped her to know where her husband was.
"At work, I give orders to my fellow staff members. At home, I take orders from my wife, but I am happy about that and would like to keep it that way. On Family Day, I am more than happy to let my family know what I have been doing here," Shieh said.

The Naval Command Headquarters also invited the families of naval personnel to its complex in Dazhi (

Activities
The Family Day activities were organized by the Cabinet. Initially, the activities were scheduled to be held on Children's Day on April 4.
However, after Children's Day was canceled as a national holiday, the Family Day activities were rescheduled for yesterday.
