Taipei kids' arts festival to open in Da-An park tonight


The Taipei Children's Arts Festival will open this evening at the Da-An Forest Park in Taipei for 22 days of entertainment for children and adults.

This is the eighth year that the annual arts festival is being held. The event is sponsored by the Taipei City Government, organized by the city government's Department of Cultural Affairs and managed by the Taipei Children's Theater Association.

This year's festival, which runs through July 28, will be a celebration that incorporates music, dance and other performances by local and international troupes.

Ten of Taiwan's finest troupes are scheduled to present a series of open-air shows, including Wild Beat by Sun Son Theater, Snow Queen by Song Song Song Children's and Puppet Theater, a lion dancing performance by Team Win Lion Dance Theater, Super Kids by Diabolo Dance Theater and Umbrella and Noodles by High Sun Taiwanese Opera.

Indoor performances will include Nowhereland Cirkus by Mexico's Luna Morena Experimental Workshop.
