Following his comments last week that he was considering adjusting the ministry from an administrative team to a "combat team" given China's constant oppression of Taiwan, Huang yesterday said that he expected the representatives "would bring their talents into full play to face a rising China."
Huang also said last week that as long as officials were willing to contribute their talents and "combat power," he would -- regardless of their age and seniority -- promote them without exception.

Heat advisories were in effect for nine administrative regions yesterday afternoon as warm southwesterly winds pushed temperatures above 38°C in parts of southern Taiwan, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) said.
