Two university professors accused of sexual assault

Two from two universities were suspended from their jobs yesterday following accusations of sexual assault against two female students.
The accused were released on bail of NT$100,000 (US$3,058) each by the Shilin District Prosecutors' Office on Sunday.
The professors were identified as Wu Cheng-lung (吳政隆), director of the Department of Aquatic Sports and Management at National Penghu University, and Huang Kun-ter (黃坤得), director of the Department of Aquatic Sports and Leisure of Aletheia University in Tamsui (淡水), Taipei County.
Both denied the accusations of sexual assault and said the two students had been willing to have sex with them.
Police that Wu, Huang, along with other professors and students, attended a forum on aquatic sports on Saturday. After the forum, some participants had dinner at a restaurant in Tamsui.
Police that after the dinner, Huang and Wu forced two female students from Aletheia University to accompany them to another restaurant. During that dinner, the two girls were alleged to have been forced to drink alcohol.
The two inebriated students were then brought back by the two professors to their dormitory at Aletheia University. Witnesses said that Huang and Wu entered the rooms of the two students.
Witnesses police they heard screaming from the two students and attempted to come to their assistance by hitting on the doors to their rooms, whereupon the victims rushed out of their rooms wearing little clothing.
After talking with other professors, the victims reported the matter to police on Sunday morning.
The two students told police that the two professors had attempted to rape them.
