Commissioner concerned about Yingge's dirty face

An international ceramics festival is taking place in Taipei County's Yingge Township (鶯歌), but the town's dirty environment, damaged bridges and ramshackle streets are not helping the festival, prompting Taipei County Commissioner Chou Hsi-wei (周錫瑋) to ask for more effort from local officials.

Following an inspection tour of the town on Tuesday, Chou, a member of the Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT), expressed concern that the town was not ready to accommodate more tourists, especially as the Taipei County Government is planning to promote local tourism and will organize a delegation to Shanghai.
