A Taiwanese couple have been arrested in Cambodia after they were caught smuggling 2.1kg of heroin out of the country, airport officials said yesterday. A 34-year-old woman surnamed Huang and a 31-year-old man surnamed Lim were detained on Saturday at Phnom Penh International Airport as they tried to board a flight for China, an airport security officer said. "The woman hid 1.2kg in her shoes, whereas the man had only 0.9kg," the officer said. The man crossed through security unnoticed, police said, but the woman's shoes made police suspicious. "She was walking in an unusual way and her shoes were higher than most," the officer said. "We asked to check her shoes and we found the heroin." The man was arrested after police discovered he was traveling with the woman, he added.
