The Ministry of Education will launch a program to encourage students to ride bicycles to school to increase the amount of exercise they get, a ministry official said yesterday. Ho Cho-fei (何卓飛), director-general of the ministry's Department of Physical Education, noted that in addition to being good exercise, riding a bicycle instead of driving a car can help reduce energy consumption and pollution and thus help slow down global warming and improve the environment.
