The National Siraya Scenic Area Administration and nine hotels in Tainan County are jointly marketing a two-day "Discovering Siraya" trek on a trial basis in the hope of attracting visitors to the newly opened scenic area, according to an administration spokesman. Administration director Tseng Han-chou (曾漢洲) said that the experimental "Discover Siraya" activity will take place on Sept. 18-19 to help the public gain an understanding of the newly established scenic facilities in Tainan County. Visitors have a choice of three scenic treks -- Tsengwen Reservoir (曾文水庫), Wushantou (烏山頭) and Hutoupei (虎頭埤). Tseng said that the administration will sponsor 12 tours on each route. Visitors taking part in the tours will only be required to pay for accommodation, while the administration will take care of meal and transportation expenses, Tseng said. The result of the trial will serve as a reference for the administration to improve future tours, he added.
