Prosecutors in Yunlin County confiscated 50 tonnes of pork from diseased pigs yesterday. Investigators raided three slaughterhouses run by two brothers surnamed Chen. The investigators said the two men had operated the slaughterhouses for more than 10 years. They allegedly bought diseased pigs from farms in Yunlin and Chiayi counties, before selling the meat to about 20 pork-processing factories which produce shredded pork, sausages, pork balls and other products.
