The Cabinet would request that the president dissolve the Legislative Yuan should the opposition pass a no-confidence vote against the premier, Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Chairman Yu Shyi-kun said yesterday. Praising Premier Su Tseng-chang (蘇貞昌) for his hard work in the six months since his inauguration, Yu said the opposition's plan to initiate a no-confidence vote against Su would not only destabilize the nation's politics, but would also be unfair. Yu made the remarks during the DPP's Central Standing Committee meeting, in which countermeasures against the opposition-planned no-confidence vote were included on the agenda.
