The Criminal Investigation Bureau (CIB) held a groundbreaking ceremony yesterday to mark the start of construction on the bureau's new high-tech facility for fighting crime. In his address at the ceremony, National Police Agency Director-General Hou Yu-ih (侯友宜) expressed hope that the new center would help boost law enforcement authorities' capabilities in investigating crimes and examining criminal evidence. Hou initiated the project while serving as CIB commissioner, and he has never relaxed his efforts to carry out the plan since being promoted to his current position, according to the CIB.
