Taiwan Quick Take: 70 cyclists to tour Taiwan

A 70-member group of cyclists was to begin a 15-day tour of the nation yesterday, departing from the National Taiwan College of Physical Education in Taichung City. According to a spokesman for the college -- which is sponsoring the 1,175km trip -- the group, calling itself "The Iron Camels," is scheduled to pass through Miaoli, Hsinchu, Taipei, Ilan, Taitung, Pingtung, Chiayi, Yunlin and Nantou during the tour. He encouraged the public to warmly applaud the team as members ride through the streets.
