Monday, Jul 10, 2006, Page 3
Another tropical storm, Bilis, was reported yesterday to be moving northwest across the Philippine Sea toward Taiwan, just after the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) lifted a sea warning for Typhoon Ewiniar earlier in the day. According to a CWB forecast, Bilis was located about 840km off Guam. The storm's 100km radius, with center winds of 18m per second and gusts up to 25m per second, was moving northwest toward Taiwan at 22kph. It was expected to change direction slightly by moving west-northwest. The CWB predicted that Bilis could affect the nation's weather from Friday through Sunday.
