Taiwan Quick Take: DPP to celebrate founding

The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has planned a series of activities for September, including rallies in Taipei and Kaohsiung, to celebrate its 20th founding anniversary, officials said yesterday. The rallies, scheduled for Sept. 16 in Kaohsiung and Sept. 23 in Taipei, are also intended to boost the DPP's campaign in the year-end mayoral elections in the two cities, the officials said.
