Taiwan Quick Take: English magazine launched

The state-funded National Cultural Association (NCA) had launched its English-language Fountain magazine on Monday to help the world better understand Taiwan. NCA Chairwoman Tchen Yu-chiou (陳郁秀) said that Fountain was the English version of the NCA's Chinese-language magazine. If the English version receives a positive response, Tchen said, then the NCA will launch Japanese and French versions. Tchen said that Taiwan's representative office in Italy had ordered 200 copies of the first issue to distribute at the Venice Biennial art and architecture exhibition later this year. Many foreign representative offices in Taiwan have also shown an interest in subscribing to the new English magazine, she added.
