Taiwan Quick Take: Students donate cash award

An international school recently donated the cash award it won in this year's Dragon Boat race to provide relief for earthquake victims in Indonesia. Teams from Hsinchu's Holland International School won the 1st, 3rd and 4th prizes in the international team event. The teams that won 1st and 3rd decided to donate the NT$44,000 (US$1,350) prize money to the Buddhist Compassionate Relief Tzu Chi Foundation. Hsinchu Mayor Lin Cheng-tze (林政則), who attended an annual party of the school last Thursday, gave the money to Tzu Chi officials on behalf of the school.
